Over Thanksgiving, we went to my Ohio to visit my sister and her family. it's about a seven to eight hour drive. Luckily our boys have become great travelers. They do crafts (and trash the back seat), read, we play word games, and listen to music - usually Star Wars (sigh).
But, I got time to just sit still and crochet, and crochet, and crochet. I have to say...I love granny squares. It's so satisfying to see a colorful stack or squares growing and growing. To join them together, I used "Connect the Shapes" by Edie Eckman.
The directions are so well written and easy to follow that the blanket started coming together really quickly. Edie provides an example to join four squares. The diagram and directions are so easy to follow that I was able to sketch a plan for my blanket. It's so satisfying to see the square coming together. I will definitely be using these techniques in the future.
I won't share someone else's work, but I promise you won't regret adding this book to your library. This is only one of the many techniques described.
Stay tuned for the big reveal. The border is coming together.
