I finally gained the confidence to leap into something completely different from a scarf or shawl! My husband owns his own company, and a couple of his overseas employees have brand new babies. I wanted to do something for them, but I couldn't decide what to do. I came across this pattern by Anna at "Crochet N Play" one evening as I was surfing Pinterest. The light bulb came on! The business logo is a rocket ship. I though this would be perfect in the company colors.
The directions are very clearly written and easy to follow. Although, I have to admit, doing something with so many short rows, did test my patience! I felt as if I was stopping every two minutes to mark my rows.
This project was a challenge for me because I've only done flat work before such as scarves. Manipulating something small and three dimensional was very different. I used an E hook and the stitch was very tight. I found myself snagging the yarn quite a bit. I don't know if it was the yarn, or the nature of having such a tight stitch.
I have a feeling I will be making more of these. The boys saw these and couldn't not understand why on earth I would be giving them away. Crazy Mommy. Obviously these were made for them!
